About Us
Reconstruct & Rebuild/ReTap, led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. David Harris, is a collaborative effort between community-based non-profit organizations aiming to address the multifaceted challenges faced by disadvantaged youth and young adults in the Reconstruct & Rebuild/ReTap neighborhood. The partnership seeks public or government funds to facilitate occupational training in construction skills, on-the-job experience, basic educational services, and leadership development counseling. These initiatives are intertwined with the rehabilitation of 40 units of low-income rental housing and vacant commercial space.

The Reconstruct & Rebuild/ReTap Park Community Housing and First Time Home Buyers Training Program is a cornerstone initiative of this collaborative effort. This program, designed to empower economically distressed individuals, offers first-time home buyer training, educational services, and leadership development counseling. The proposal requests financial support to aid administrative components, with a primary focus on operational seed funds to kick-start the program.

Economic distress within the Reconstruct & Rebuild/ReTap neighborhoods underscores the urgent need for intervention. Declining population trends, exacerbated by the loss of manufacturing jobs, have left the community vulnerable with high poverty rates and limited employment opportunities. The program targets this vulnerable demographic, offering avenues for skill development and economic empowerment.
My Story
The Reconstruct & Rebuild/ReTap neighborhoods faces significant economic distress, characterized by high poverty rates, limited employment opportunities, and a shortage of affordable housing. Disadvantaged youth and young adults, in particular, lack access to training and educational resources necessary to secure stable employment and housing. However, amidst these challenges lies an opportunity to leverage community partnerships, public funding, and strategic interventions to empower individuals and revitalize the local economy.
Reconstruct & Rebuild/ReTap partnership offers a holistic approach to community development, addressing the root causes of economic disparity while creating pathways to prosperity for residents of the Reconstruct & Rebuild/ReTap neighborhoods. through collaboration, innovation, and targeted investment, the plan aims to build a brighter future for all stakeholders involved.
