McElderry Park Association Community Resources
WOMEN'S CENTER BOXES
All babies deserve to have the necessities to stay warm, safe and healthy when released from the hospital. Unfortunately, there are many new moms in our community that might not have the resources to provide these items for their child. The newborn necessity kits provided to qualifying moms will help to relieve some of their worry and ensure that their new baby will have what they need for the first few weeks of life.

Community ON-BOARDING PROGRAM

The Patient On-boarding Program, POP, is designed to create a more engaging and welcoming experience for our patients and caregivers. Our Patient Engagement Navigators round on patients in the hospital to ensure they are having the best experience possible, and if not, see what we can do to improve this experience. One of the main things we see while rounding are anxieties due to waiting for tests/procedures, or boredom and loneliness. POP provides items such as books, puzzles, fidget blankets, etc. to help reduce anxiety and make our patients as comfortable as possible while waiting. The POP is is currently in need of iPhone chargers & charging blocks, and coloring books.

PACKAGES TO SUPPORT PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS

Patients discharging to homeless shelters often have limited clothing and hygiene products. In effort to improve the patient's transition from the hospital, we provide small packages with basic necessities.

HOMEOWNERSHIP

Department of Housing & Community Development
The Baltimore City Department and Housing and Community Development (DHCD) works to improve the quality of life for all Baltimore City residents by revitalizing and redeveloping communities and promoting access to quality houses.

Live Baltimore
Live Baltimore fights the persistent and devastating population loss that began in Baltimore City in the 1950s and which has destabilized neighborhoods and limited families’ opportunities to flourish in their communities. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, they work citywide to grow Baltimore’s economy by attracting residents, retaining residents, and supporting healthy housing markets. Each year, Live Baltimore provides thousands of individuals with information on the city’s 250+ neighborhoods, rental living options, homebuying incentive programs, historic tax credits, and more.
